The devil’s children do the work of their father

One of the greatest errors of today is the belief that we are all God’s children. We here this statement made all of the time as a way of excusing someone’s bad behavior. The Lord Jesus made a clear difference between the devil’s children and the children of God, a difference we need to recognize.

John 8, 42-44: Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The most repeated attack against God’s people throughout the Bible is the pressure to accept sin and sinful people. Christians today are being pressured to accept things that are contrary to God’s Word by people using the claim that we’re all God’s children. There is a difference between someone who makes a mistake in life and someone who lives a life of rejecting God.

It is the murderous man who plans to slay another to increase his own gain. A drunkard with complete disregard of the law and thought of others will drive drunk and kills an innocent person or a child. It is the harlot and the whoremonger who try to destroy the marriage of another by taking advantage of human weakness. The thief who will steal the property and labor of others without concern.

It is the false teacher who will try to lead astray God’s children from the truth and destroy the local church. It is the wicked who will take advantage the kindness of others and cause them harm when given the chance.

Isaiah 3: 11, Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Micah 2: 1, Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

The Christian has the responsibility of defending the weak but cannot defend anyone if we are weak ourselves. The Lord stood as the only one between an angry mob and the woman taken in adulatory.

Each of the Apostles stood for the truth and didn’t accept false doctrine within the church. They were not weak men; they were strong and stood up for the weak against the devil’s children.

We are to give the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and show lost souls the Savior but we are not to be weak and accept wickedness. We are to be strong in the Lord, stand for the truth and against the devil’s children.
