The last days will be as the days of Noah
The Lord Jesus tells us that the last days before His return will be as the days of Noah. It is important for us to understand how those days were to gain a better understanding of the Bible and of the times before the Lord’s return.
Matthew 24:37-39: But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The Bible tells us that the days of Noah were filled with all manner of wickedness. Sin was common place among the people of the day. There was no fear of God and the people never believed they would face any consequences for their actions. This should sound familiar to anyone who takes an honest look at our world today.
We are living in a world that has many similarities to the the days when Noah was building the Ark. Those who try to stand for the things that are right are criticized by those of this world. Noah faced criticism in his day as he tried to warn the world about God’s Judgement.
Genesis 6: 5, And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
People became comfortable with living in sin and one type of sin led to another. The growth of evil in our world today should remind us of the things which happened in Noah’s day. God judged the wickedness of the world of Noah. He has warned us that when the world returns to being as wicked as it was in Noah’s day that judgement is about to happen again.
Everyone believed Noah was crazy until the day it started to rain. It was too late for everyone except for those within the Ark. Today the Ark of Salvation we have is Jesus Christ. The only escape from the judgement this world will face is to turn to Him in repentance and in faith.
