Jesus Christ is the only hope for the Sinner
The only hope for the sinner is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are to turn to Him in faith and repentance.
A seventeenth century preacher named John Bunyan stated, “The difference between true and false repentance lies in this; the man who truly repents cries out against his heart, but the other, as Eve, against the serpent, or something else.”
Psalms 34: 17-18, “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
No matter where individuals are when God deals with them the cry of true repentance is what the Lord hears and answers. The desire of the Lord is to save sinners, and He laid down His life to accomplish this task. The heartfelt prayer of the sinner crying out for God’s mercy is the subject that makes angels in heaven rejoice.
Luke 15: 10, “I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
To those who believe there is no hope for them, there is hope; Christ is the only hope for the sinner and the hopeless. Make all of heaven shout by turning to the Lord. Lay off any doubts and run to the savior.
To those who feel their faith is too weak, remember it isn’t the amount of faith you have, but the object of your faith. Put your faith in Jesus Christ.
Does doubt appear to you to be a mountain? Then remember what the Lord said. Mathew 17: 20, “I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
There was a preacher named Steven many years ago who was killed for what he believed. The man who killed him was seen as the most dangerous person around.
Surprisingly, when this individual was knocked off his high horse by no one other than the Lord, he became who we know as the Apostle Paul. This story can be found in Acts chapter 9.
“God has set a Savior against sin, a heaven against a hell, light against darkness, good against evil, and the breadth and length and depth and height of grace that is in Himself for my good, against all the power and strength and subtlety of every enemy.” –John Bunyan.
